Analysis of Buccal Bone Changes and Positional Accuracy of Immediately Placed and Provisionalized Single Implants in the Maxilla Using Computer-Guided Templates: A Prospective Study.

The aim of this study was to measure and compare dimensional changes of the buccal bone, at 6 months after extraction and immediate implant placement, using Superimposed 3-Dimensional (3D) Cone Beam Computerized Tomography (CBCT) images vs non-superimposed CBCT images and to analyze the accuracy between 3D virtual implant position vs actual (in-vivo) implant position using computer-guided templates. Ten bone level implants (Straumann USA Inc) were placed in 10 patients. Superimposition was performed via Co-Diagnostix (3D-Diagnostix, Brighton, MA) software.
