Accuracy of the cobas® EGFR mutation assay in non-small cell lung cancer compared with three laboratory-developed tests

Rapid and precise mutation assays are essential to select lung cancer patients who may respond to treatment with epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR)-tyrosine kinase inhibitors. Using the same specimens, the reliability of the cobas® EGFR assay was compared to three commonly used laboratory-developed tests (LDTs). High concordance rates and κ-coefficients were obtained between the cobas® EGFR assay and the LDTs.
