Abstract
Recurrent respiratory papillomatosis (RRP) is a histologically benign condition predominantly caused by human papillomavirus types 6 and 11 which most commonly affects the larynx. There is a bimodal age distribution with two peaks of onset, 'Juvenile onset RRP' (JORRP) occurring before the age of 5, and 'Adult onset' occurring between the second and fourth decades. The incidence in the US has been estimated at 4.3 per 100,000 children and 1.8 per 100,00 adults.
