Enantioselective Organocatalytic Four‐Atom Ring Expansion of Cyclobutanones: Synthesis of Benzazocinones

In the footsteps of Count Monte Cristo escaping the Château d'If fortress on the way to his treasure, French and Chinese chemists collaboratively elaborated an enantioselective organocatalytic four‐atom ring‐expansion / two‐atom ring‐contraction synthetic strategy to reach rare eight‐ and six‐membered nitrogen heterocycles.
