"It′s a kind of magic" can be said of the bifunctional electrocatalysis strategy in which 1,2‐dichloroethane (DCE) serves as both a chlorinating agent and a source of the useful byproduct vinyl chloride. In their Communication (DOI: 10.1002/anie.201814570), N. Jiao and co‐workers describe how HCl generated by catalytic dehydrogenation of DCE serves as the chloride source for the synthesis of value‐added (hetero)aryl chlorides.
