A hyaluronic acid-based microneedle patch to treat psoriatic plaques: A pilot open trial

Abstract

Psoriasis, a common, chronic, relapsing, inflammatory skin disease characterised by multiple erythematous papules and plaques with silvery scales, affects 0.5–3% of the world's population. Recently, great advances have been made in the treatment of psoriasis, including the introduction of targeted biological agents.¹ However, topical treatment remains important; most patients have mild disease affecting less than 2% of the body surface area.²
