A pathogenic coding variant causing autosomal dominant mannose-binding lectin (MBL) deficiency results in low levels of MBL – an acute phase reactant. This study provides evidence that autosomal dominant MBL deficiency is associated with poorer neurodevelopmental outcomes and that this detrimental effect is exacerbated by early age at first surgery.
