Nearly all half of all adults are currently infected with human papillomavirus (HPV), recognized as a causative agent for some head, neck, and anogenital cancers. Incidence of these cancers is increasing, and while there are known gender and racial disparities, little work has explored HPV-associated (HPVa) epidemiology amongst the nearly 20% of the US population residing in rural areas.
