Ectomesenchymal chondromyxoid tumor (ECT) is a rare benign tumor, with few cases having been described to date. Here, we report a case of a 48-year-old Japanese man with ECT who visited our department with the chief complaint of swelling of the posterior tongue. Magnetic resonance imaging revealed a well-circumscribed oval lesion at the posterior tongue. Clinically diagnosis was benign tumor of the tongue. The tumor was excised under general anesthesia. Pathological diagnosis of the surgical specimen was ECT. No recurrence has been observed 1year after surgery.
