Osteoradionecrosis (ORN) is a chronic and progressive disease that is defined as exposed, non-healed bone over a 3-month period with no evidence of residual or recurrent cancer. It is one of the most debilitating complications of radiation therapy. In addition to bone exposure, patients with mandibular ORN commonly present with pain, trismus, dysphagia and malnutrition. Patients who developed advanced disease with pathological fracture, orocutaneous fistula and pain require surgical intervention with continuity resection and further reconstruction1.
