A 82 year old man who was diagnosed with locally advanced adenosquamous carcinoma originally presented to us, in September 2011, a few weeks after being started on erlotinib at an outside institution based on his clinical characteristics of being Asian and a never-smoker. Since he had clinical and radiologic evidence of benefit he was continued on erlotinib. After 3 months of erlotinib, the drug was held and the patient received 66.6 Gy of radiation to his primary right middle lobe lung mass and mediastinal lymph nodes.
