DR CHARLES SCOGGINS (Louisville, KY): Pregnancy poses management challenges for many conditions because of the potential harm to 2 patients: the mother and the fetus. This is especially true for cancers that arise during pregnancy. The group at John Wayne has demonstrated that pregnancy has no impact on melanoma stage or outcome. Their methods are solid and conclusions supported by the data. First, I would like for the authors to delve further into the issue of gravida for early-stage melanoma.
